She is an absolutely powerfully positive force of nature. We’re talking about the one and only incomparable Global Activist Greshun De Bouse, with a proven track record of positively affecting our veterans, unhoused, disabled, elderly, youth, and other populations. Well now she has founded Visual Impairment Awareness Day, and partnered with First Move Life Coaching LLC to host the inaugural Visual Impairment Awareness Day event! Celebrated annually December 27, the day raises awareness of the various types of visual impairment that may occur in previously sighted persons, and encourages all to allocate time and other resources to Braille education for this population. Activist De Bouse said this when asked why such Awareness is needed.

The disabled population in general is often overlooked by society. Previously sighted individuals who become visually impaired are faced with a unique challenge to relearn the world as they once knew it, as a visually impaired person. All citizens deserve to be and feel seen and heard, and treated with dignity and respect. Visual Impairment Awareness Day aims to persuade the masses to treat the visually impaired as such.

We plan to support Visually Impairment Awareness Day with our time and financial contributions to further independence efforts with emphasis on Braille education for the visually impaired community. Join us.
