LeadBelly’s Niece on NationalHuddie Ledbetter Day: This is Long Overdue
Greshun De Bouse is a Behavioral Scientist and American Activist among other things, who also happens to be great niece to the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Lead Belly. After decades of Lead Belly being the catalyst for musical artists’ sounds in various genres, and being sampled by such artists and morw to date, it is befitting that Lead Belly has his own special day. August 1 is National Huddie Ledbetter Day in honor of Lead Belly, something his niece Greshun De Bouse says “…is long overdue” about her famous uncle having his own Day. De Bouse went on to say, “The man is a multi-instrumentalist, a musical genius, and I would say this even if he wasn’t my uncle.” De Bouse also is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist in her own right, and is proud of her rich musical legacy.
